Kismara Pessatti | Contralto

Brazilian contralto Kismara Pessatti is an internationally active opera and concert singer. She performed, among others, Carmen with the Bergische Symphoniker, Orfeo in São Paulo, Erda in the Nibelung's Ring in the Aalto Theater in Essen and Schwertleite at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Maddalena in Rigoletto in Saint Étienne, Mary in the Flying Dutchman in Geneve, Caen and Luxembourg and Neris in Médée by Cherubini in Rio de Janeiro.

Kismara Pessatti has performed in various countries such as Germany, Japan, England, France, Spain, Venezuela, Italy, Switzerland, Russia, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Portugal, Colombia and Brazil - in many important theaters and concert halls such as, among others, Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Berliner Philharmonie, Liederhalle Stuttgart, KKL Lucerne, Tonhalle Zürich, Royal Festival Hall in London, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, Bunkamura Orchard Hall in Toquio, Theatro Municipal de São Paulo, International House of Music in Moscow.

In addition to her big success on the opera stage Kismara Pessatti is a concert singer in great demand and also a researcher of less well-known and original repertoire.

HILDEGARD NOW AND THEN will explore the works of Hildegard von Bingen (1098-1179) and the legacy of inspiration. Hildegard was an extraordinarily accomplished woman, visionary, prophet (she was known as “The Sibyl Of The Rhine”), a pioneer who wrote practical books on biology, botany, medicine, theology and the arts.

This release will featuring original compostions and new works inspired by this seminal figure on the history of women composers. HILDEGARD NOW AND THEN will be also part of the new Drama Musica's Collection: DONNE - dedicated to female composers.
